Sustainable building design
Everything we make is of the earth - the clay of bricks, the silica of glass, and the ore of steel. These things that we make are placed in a manner that protects and celebrates the earth.
Air is the medium for life and art. Our warmth and breath are of the air. We devise spaces that manage the air as both a medium and a sun-filled space to buoy the spirit.
Water is the transformative element. Solid to liquid to vapor - it's the medium of life. We know how water surrenders its heat or cooling from deep in the earth or bottom of a stream. We know how water soothes. We also know how to manage and reinvigorate the lakes we enjoy, and how to treat the water that we use and drink.
The built environment is meaningless without people. Design thinking allows us to create places that are human in scale, welcoming, sheltering, thrilling, and fascinating.
